Breakfast was very nice with enough options to suit every palate. It was a continental breakfast - so no hot food. But there's a lot of other stuff available. There's a fancy coffee machine that makes you all kinds of good coffee, and it's available all the time. There's always a kettle and tea bags available all the time as well. In peak season you may want to consider going earlier or later than the usual 'standard' breakfast time as it can get a bit busy and unfortunately some people (guests) are selfish and take entire plates of tomato slices just for themselves. Yes - this actually happened to us. People will be people. The staff are fantastic. Very accommodating and very polite. The facilities are quite nice and very clean - so no issues there. The communal area has ample seating - more than enough for the amount of rooms they have. It's open all the time (although I think there's a quiet time cut off after a certain time because there are rooms that run along the corridors on either side of the lounge area). The building is about a 15 min walk into town if you don't want to drive. We walked most of the time because it's easier and you can have a drink or two. Our room was accessed from the outside of the main building - Room #101. It's a lovely, spacious room with a double bed, sofa/seating area, massive bathroom with rainfall shower, smart decor and views of the front and side. The side window has views of the field next door with the sweetest horses. It's a very quiet location and it's really cool the way they've decorated the communal area with photos of the old milk factory that used to be there. Complete with lab coats and white boots! There's ample free parking in the parking area just out front of the building - very handy. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely stay there again next time we're in Iceland and in the Hofn area.

Unlike many "hotels" in Iceland that turn out to be little better than hostels upon a closer look, this guesthouse is in fact comparable in quality to a very good 3 star hotel. The room was very large, featuring a very comfortable bed, panoramic windows with awesome views and a spacious bathoom with modern facilities quite unlike rusty, leaky, smelly camping-style WCs we've had to live with at some other places. Everything was perfectly tidy. The place was a very welcome respite after a mouldy motel we had to stay at the previous night. There is no on-site restaurant, but the guesthouse is 5 minutes drive from the centre of Hofn. If you come in high season, you will most likely have to book in advance as there are very few restaurants in the town and they tend to be fully booked. Borislav, the guy at the reception, was incredibly helpful in a lot of practical ways. If you are reading this, Borislav - many thanks to you mate, it was really nice getting to know you! Given the place's very reasonable rates, I highly recommend this guesthouse. I am not giving good reviews lightly, for I do expect to receive quality when I pay for it. Milk Factory certainly delivers.

Unique location in a converted milk processing factory - although it really just looks like a nicely remodeled hotel with some photos and decorations reminiscent of its former role. We had a four person room which ended up including a loft with two beds upstairs, which we were not aware of. The stairs were wide and safe but could present a problem for some. The main room was quite small but nicely decorated. The upstairs loft included a small freestanding fan, which I used to bring in some fresh air. The bathroom facilities were fine and the rain style shower wonderful. They provided an included breakfast buffet that offered good quality foods. The hotel is located in Hofn, which was our favorite town outside of Reykjavik with lovely walking paths, nature and art trails and some good restaurants.

The hotel is a converted Milk Factory, with the rooms surrounding a central breakfast area. It is on the northern edge of Hofn, a bit out of town, but we liked the peaceful setting. We had a room on the north side with a beautiful view over farmland to glaciers in the distance. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate with lovely very hot water in the shower.. Lovely friendly welcome at reception, excellent recommendation for dinner downtown and breakfast was good.

Very cool conversion of an old milk factory on the edge of Hofn. Plenty of parking, nice view from outside, hip and bright interior spaces w/ references to the factory history, large breakfast room w/ an ample buffet (which was actually included, unlike all our other Iceland hotels), friendly staff, bright and high-ceilinged room (we had the family room w/ the loft) w/ a huge window (but decent shades). All-in-all a fun place.
